Millipore Corporation – UF Casting

A two-story structure was designed to house Millipore’s UF casting operation. The building had several areas that were designated as a high-hazard H-2 use. This designation resulted in designing portions of the second floor slab for blast loading from below. In addition, certain interior CMU walls had to be designed to resist the blast until the blow out panels on the exterior walls relieved the blast pressure.
