Riley House

A five-story addition to an existing school structure was designed utilizing block and plank construction. The plank was cantilevered beyond the exterior block bearing walls to form bay and shed projections from the building façade. Due to the sloping site, the addition foundations were lower than the existing foundations. An underpinning system was developed to allow the construction of the addition.
