The Shoppes at Farmington Valley

The Shoppes is a lifestyle shopping center consisting of ten buildings totaling 420,000 square feet. Veitas & Veitas Engineers, Inc. was responsible for the design of 8 of the 10 buildings totaling 204,000 square feet. The buildings were arranged along a main street with parking on all four sides of the buildings. This required a high level of finish on all four sides. Each building had its own unique identity via a tower or other roof treatment. Due to the large amount of glass on the exterior walls, moment frames were utilized to resist lateral loads.
