The design of a four winged three-story assisted living facility utilized a protected wood frame separated at key locations by masonry firewalls. Panelized wood walls combined with prefabricated wood trusses allowed construction to proceed quickly and efficiently. Due to the size of the complex, special attention was given to floor framing over the mechanical rooms and support of water filled supply pipes for the Whalen units.
